3D Christmas Tree DIY Soldering Practice Kit
Last year you made the kids help decorate the Christmas tree? This year, make them build it. This DIY Soldering Practice Kit is a basic electronic project for STEM learning and budding makers that will produce a flashing 3D Christmas tree when assembled. There's also an option to build a Bluetooth-compatible PCB Christmas tree that will belt out "O Tannenbaum," and all your other favorite holiday tunes, upon completion.
Finished trees require 3 x AA batteries, or a USB power adapter, to illuminate. As with string lights, you may end up with some LEDs that don't light up and make you batty trying to figure out why. In this case, it's probably solderer error, and you'll need to help your kiddos (or your husband) verify that all components are positioned in the right direction and soldered securely in place.
