aRks 3D has prototyped a series of 3D printed bikinis they call Coral. And I know what all the dudes out there are thinking: that's some Coral I'd sure like to come across in the ocean. In stark contrast what's running through all the ladies' heads: that girl's gonna have some F'ed. Up. Tan lines.
aRks 3D calls the Coral line "ergonomic, ecological, unique and tailored." I'll have to trust them on that string of adjectives, but with all the peek-a-boo cutouts in the printed material I'd like to add one they definitely left out: hot. Maybe literally too, given the bikinis are made of Pla and Pla flex, a thermoplastic aliphatic polyester I can't imagine does much for wicking sweat.
aRks 3D does mention the Coral bikinis, or at least their bottoms, have cotton inserts for comfort. The Pla and Pla flex materials are also biodegradable, accounting for the "ecological" descriptor they mentioned earlier. And, like many 3D printed items, Coral bikinis are to be tailor-made to their wearer's body, so every suit will be perfectly formed for fit and OOAK.
