Williams Sonoma predicts Breville's compact countertop crispy crust pizza maker will change my life. Now, far be it from me to argue with the world's #1 kitchen store magnate about life-altering experiences, but given that I can get adequately crispy crusted pizza delivered between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3 a.m. for $8.99 from Pizza My Heart down the street, I think a hunk of electrical coils and conduits sandwiching a baking stone will likely fall shy of the Changed My Life designation. However, if Williams Sonoma were to give me a crispy crust pizza maker and 1% of of their annual profits, that would probably do the trick.
Breville's machine turns out both thin- and thick-crusted, brick-ovenesque pizzas in about 10 minutes. Its dual heating elements can reach temperatures of up to 660 degrees F, and settings for 3 different crust styles ensure properly adjusted cook times for uniformly baked pies.
