MonkeyLectric upgrades its previous version of Monkey Light LED madness for bicycle tires with Monkey Light Pro, an installation of customized, downloaded graphics and animations that turn two wheels into two tickets to vehicular transportation domination. You want to attract more chicks? More dudes? More stray cats and fireflies? Let Monkey Light Pro be your hook, your lure, your Funky Cold Medina.

Used in combination with Bluetooth technology, Monkey Light Pro's web-based software allows users to create a playlist of sorts, with images and animation that are then beamed to bike wheels for running display during riding. The company has its own collection of artwork that will be pre-loaded with all orders, but even cooler, Monkey Light Pro technology will enable all users to upload and roll their own graphics...and written messages...as well. Oh yeah, that's right. Even if you can't create anything more moving than a winking smiley face using a semi-colon, hypen, and close parenthesis, you can still express your ML Pro self in words, scrolling through front-back wheel commentary such as, "May the Force be with you" and "Watch out for that tree."

Monkey Light Pro animations are visible from both sides of each wheel, and the 4 bars of 256 full-color LEDs that comprise the system promise to be waterproof, durable, and primed to troll the city streets. Thanks to speed, position, and rotation direction sensors, stable, full-wheel images cycle smoothly at paces of 10 to 40 mph.

Pro installations weigh about 500 grams and fit most bike wheels measuring 26", 27", 28", 29", and 700c. Supported Monkey Light software formats include JPG, GIF, PNG, AVI, MPEG, MOV, QT, and FLV, and the technology is compatible with both Windows and Mac OS.

The (makes-my-mouth-agape pricey) Monkey Light Pro animated bike lights run as a Kickstarter campaign through July 21, 2013.

December 2013 Update: Monkey Light Pro exceeded its crowdfunding goal and is now available for direct purchase through the company's website--follow the link below.
