Praetor Pocketblade
One look at the Praetor Pocketblade's precision milled carbon fiber composite housing and laser-etched blades, and I wanted to know more. "More" includes an ergonomic grip, blades that are swappable in seconds, and a nifty quick-release magnetic sheath system. So, yeah, I'm about to Praetor Santa to add a Pocketblade to the presents he puts under the tree for me this year.
Or at least the promise of a Praetor Pocketblade to come - at printing the utility knife was crowdfunding here on Kickstarter through January 31, 2019.
Praetor Pocketblades are engineered and built in Canada by Ronin Energetics. Their concept combines "the adaptability and convenience of a utility blade with the rugged durability and strength of a fixed blade knife." Using a carbon fiber composite chassis keeps the design as tough as it is light, and suitable for use in all environments and weather conditions.
Countersunk neodymium magnets embedded in the Praetor's composite frame enable the blade to lock itself into place with ease, as well as stay locked until you twist it to disengage.
