Although all maps technically contain the places you want to see before you die, Awesome Maps' Bucketlistmap provides the added service of specifics--the phenomena, landmarks, and activities within each country or region that make a visit there bucket-list-worthy. Further, said destinations won't be left to the sole discretion of a handful of bearded Germans--though they will have some input, and will also produce the maps--but collaboratively determined by those who back the Bucketlistmap project on Kickstarter.

Awesome Maps has already designed 3 categorized twists on standard flat-earth diagrams, the Surftripmap, the Snowtripmap, and the Footballmap, each of which delineates the best places in the world to partake in their respective titular activity, and all of which you can check out here. With the Bucketlistmap the company seeks others' input by way of write-in suggestions and voting to fold into an ultimate authority on where in the world to go prior to leaving it.

To get the ideas flowing, and to prove they are not just half-assing this one with an open call for information instead of doing the research themselves, Awesome Maps has completed most of Africa. Once the Kickstarter funding period ends on July 4, 2013, they will contact backers with instructions for further submissions and voting procedures.

December 2013 Update: The Bucketlistmap exceeded its crowdfunding goal and is now available for direct purchase through the Awesome Maps website--follow the link below.
