Healthful Home 5-Minute Mold Test Kit
Everyone talks about mold causing allergies and lung problems and, like, mental illness, but I just think it's gross. If I want fungus growing alongside my bed or watching TV with me, I'll get a Mushroom Log and at least make sure it's the kind I can have my mama turn into a savory and decadent mushroom marsala. So all the rest of the mold spores floating around my house better bugger off. And the way I'll know if they're buggering off or not? The 5-Minute Mold Test.
This kit allows homeowners to do their own testing using EPA-recommended dust samples (instead of mailing samples in, which takes much longer that 5 minutes, and instead air samples, which are not as sensitive or accurate). It includes specific antibody-based tests for more than 32 different Asp/Pen and Stachybotrys mold types that have been known to cause illness, using the same lateral flow assay technology employed in medical labs.
Mold testing requires just 3 steps: sample an area of settled dust, snap the tester's bulb to wet, and then add the sample directly to the test panel. One red line indicates a negative test result, two red lines mean you've got yourself some mold up in it. The 5-Minute Mold Test kit also includes a postage-paid mailer and sterile swabs if you do decide to mail the sample in for lab confirmation.
