Though the Silhouette wine glass appears to be designed to make the wine drinking process less difficult and embarrassing for people with inordinately large noses, its true benefits extend to proboscises of all sizes. The 20-ounce bowl has a parabolic notch cut into its lip, which its Czech creators say will help aerate wine quickly, plus enhance the tasting experience by allowing noses closer to the wine's aromas during sipping. The Silhouette vino vessel also calls itself the "only true all purpose wine glass in the world." It is equally suitable for red and white wine, as well as bold and light varietals.
Silhouette wine glasses are made of 24% lead crystal and stand 9-1/2" tall. Net capacity, since no one but Moses can fill the glass above its notch, is 16 ounces. It has been featured in the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Oooh, fancy. I submitted the aluminum foil beer bong I made, but they turned it down.
