This is a Cold Steel Big Bore Hunting Blowgun. It is 4' long with a 3mm barrel and target-style mouthpiece for firing .625 magnum darts. No cheap materials or shoddy assembly here either. Made of polymer, rubber, and aluminum, the Big Bore is a high-quality weapon capable of both felling a handful of fowl for dinner (see photo) and putting a permanent sock in the mouth of the pigeon that starts cooing outside your bedroom window at 0600 hours every morning. And by sock I mean extra pointy broadhead dart.
Although the name sort of suggests it...in that tricky homophonic way...I would not use the Big Bore blowgun to pelt a big boar. However, it would readily destroy the cans of Sierra Mist your mama brought home even though you told her you wanted Mountain Dew. Partaking in this activity could also prevent your day from devolving into a big bore.
Cold Steel's .625 Magnum blowgun has an effective range of 20+ yards, depending on the skill and lung power of its users. As you might expect, lifeguards and trumpet players hold all the records. With practice, blowgun fires can nail a 2" circle and penetrate a 1/2" sheet of plywood at these distances, making it a nifty--and completely silent--small game hunting companion. Cold Steel recommends having a go at doves, quails, squirrels, and rabbits.
Blowgun packages include the 4' gun, mouthpiece, rubber ferrule, dart quiver, quiver guard, and 36 darts. The darts are divided between 12 stun darts, 12 mini broadhead, 6 broadhead, and 6 bamboo.
