Do you see what it says on one of the drams in the Gin Advent Calendar?! Professor Cornelius! Professor Cornelius Impleforth! I can't stop laughing! Partly due to the thought of my friend Cornelius being a professor, and partly in anticipation of convincing everyone we both know to discard his real last name in favor of Impleforth henceforth in our dealings with him. Oh man, if I had money I would definitely buy...a PlayStation 4 and 5 Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream cakes from Baskin Robbins. But then if I had any left over, I would definitely buy this alcoholic's countdown to Christmas for my friend Cornelius.

Drinks by the Dram has issued their yearly booze-stuffed advent calendars, this year adding a gin twist to last year's whisky release. Gin sippers, shooters, and guzzlers can enjoy 24 individually labeled and wax-sealed 1-ounce bottles selected by ginosseurs at The Gin Foundry. Dram contents range from recognizable market players (but hopefully not Gordon's) to a few rare artisanal brands.

The Whisky Advent Calendar adheres to the same apothecarial protocol, but dispenses of the juniper. Its highlight is a mystery dram extracted from a barrel of premium 40-year-old Single Malt.
