The Fitbit Aria Wi-Fi Smart Scale measures weight, body fat percentage, and body mass index (BMI) each time you step onto it, plus beams the results to an online Fitbit dashboard or smartphone app to enable progress tracking and paint a full Bob-Ross-brushstroked picture of your weight trends.
The fact is, humans love data, and humans love things that have to do with themselves. So here's hoping this outpouring of data about our poundages and percentages and ratios will serve to inject the additional drive we need to make good on our resolutions. Also, since the Aria's communication with external devices is automatic, we theoretically don't even have to look at the scale and, in turn, feel like shit each time we step on it. I personally plan to blindly weigh myself every day for weeks, and then just check out my progress online some day when I'm feeling particularly buff and brave.
The Fitbit Aria programs to automatically recognize up to 8 different users, and records weight data in their choice of pounds, kilograms, or stones. The data analysis interface, available through the app or a Fitbit.com account, interpolates user information into simple charts and graphs, and includes free tools for setting weight goals, logging food, and tracking physical activity.
