Revolights, a wheel-mounted bicycle headlight and taillight system, equip cyclists with wheels that provide true 360-degree visibility, plus an integrated brake light indicator. The Kickstarted company's current model, Revolights City v2.0, will install onto any 700c/622/vintage 27" bike that adheres to their fit chart specs. Riders can also purchase a complete set of Revolight 700c/622mm wheels with built-in lights.
Revolights promote visibility and road safety with a combination lighting-sighting design consisting of 2 fluid arcs of LED lights. The LEDs are programmed to detect cyclist speed and illuminate when oriented at the front or rear of the bicycle. As pure lights, Revolights keep cyclists' paths fully visible with an even, wide, vertical emanation. They illuminate not only the ground ahead, but also road signs and elevated obstacles. And since their breadth is 360 degrees, cars, pedestrians, and low-flying birds also have an easier time identifying two-wheeled transporters, particularly at night.
The red Revolight installed on the rear tire serves as a fully functional, legal brake light.
Revolights consists of 4 narrow rings of LEDs, 2 white and 2 red. They mount directly to the front and rear bicycle wheels and function via USB rechargeable Lithium-ion batteries, the latter bracket-mounted to the front and rear hub. A fork-mounted magnet and an integrated accelerometer feed speed and orientation data to the rings so that the LEDs to illuminate only when oriented at the front or rear of the bicycle.
