It's almost spring! Only...I don't know, however many days until the first day of spring...days away. What am I, a meteorologist? I'm 80% sure it happens sometime this month. And that means it's time to plant your garden. Or, if you're a real man, your survival seeds. This vault is stuffed solid with packets of fruit and vegetable fetuses primed to grow big and strong and nutritious enough to feed your whole family in an emergency. Or when the kids forget to pick up the pizza even though that was part of the deal when you let them use the car, and so as punishment everyone has to eat salad and butternut squash puree for dinner.

If you can turn the seeds from pellets to plants without killing them, and presuming the emergency you've experienced isn't one that has destroyed your entire backyard, this Survival Seed Vault will keep you and your family well fed even in the most contrary of conditions. It packs 20 varieties of heirloom seeds, plus detailed planting and harvesting instructions for growing them, into a single 2-pound metal canister. All seeds are packaged in preserving triple-layered foil packets, and can be resealed after they're opened.

Seed feed selections include:

  • Blue Lake Bean, over 150 seeds
  • California Wonder Pepper, over 70 seeds
  • Scarlet Nantes Carrot, over 800 seeds
