Don't be fooled by the MY3D Viewer's cheap plastic look and the implications of Amazon's selling it for 73% off at printing. This purveyor of 3D and 360-degree iPhone and iPod touch entertainment has largely favorable buyer reviews for its enhancement of games and media. Of course, aside from 3D flicks, most of those games and media come in the form of specially created MY3D apps for the intended viewing experience. And of course, some are free from the App Store, and some aren't.
iDevices slide and snap in and out of the MY3D Viewer to begin the tri-dimensional fun with Apple technology's gyroscope; it continues via Viewer thumbholes that allow access to iPhone/iTouch touchscreens for playing interactive 3D games. Post unboxing, Viewer users can download the free MY3D Presents... app as an introduction to the device. It also includes samples of supported content, such as 3D movie trailers, video demos of MY3D apps, and slide shows.
Tailored apps include MY3D Tunnel Pilot, a hover vehicle racing game, MY3D Sector 17, a 360-degree first-person shooter game, and MY3D Bubble Bolt, a puzzle that requires tilting and moving the iPhone/iTouch viewer to navigate past obstacles and through mazes. An underwater 3D experience in MY3D Sharks opens the oceans for players to hunt for prey and search for shipwrecks and treasure, while MY3D Teleport L.A. serves as a 360-degree virtual tour of Los Angeles.
Viewer packages include 4 different adapter trays for various iPhone/iTouch generations.
