One thing I like to do is buy stuff. A lot of this stuff requires a charger. And none of it--none of it!--ever seems to require the same charger. Anker's compact and tidy 5-port USB charger claims to have enough ports, both in number and variety, to satisfy the whole family's (or a single overactive consumerist's) device-charging needs. One outlet can now simultaneously serve: an iPhone (1A); an Android device (1A); a Samsung Tab (1.3A); and a coupla iPads (2.1A). Each port is clearly labeled for the cable it would like to receive, though Anker notes the system can also charge many other devices at full speed. Oh boy, I can't wait to see which USB connectors I can jam into and juice up with those ports!
For those who don't care to do the math above, the charger's total output is 5A across its 3.6" x 2.6" x 1" frame. Easy to find space for at home, and easy enough to schlep with me to a hotel room in Tijuana with 0 stars and 1 power outlet. The Anker 5-port package also includes a 4.9' detachable power cord.
Muchas danke to Manny for the Dude Product Tip.
