Say "I do" to Motiv and the ring will be your loyal fitness tracker, sleep tracker, and heart rate monitor 'til death do you part. Day and night, at home or in the gym, even in the shower and pool. Even if you gain a few pounds after settling into your relationship. Motiv won't judge your activity levels or your caloric burn or your decision to sacrifice sleep for a Bob Ross marathon on PBS.

OK, fine, it might judge you. But nicely. It will call the judgement Motiv-ation, and tuck it into an iOS app that "suggests" weekly goals and adjusts daily targets based on your actual progress and accomplishments. A little nudge to take care of yourself, and a subtle reminder that no love - no matter what they say - is unconditional. Not even that from your wearable device.

Motiv has tried to nail an inconspicuous, lightweight, even stylish design to encourage you to wear it continuously. The ring's microtechnology tracks all of your activities, 24 hours a day, and deciphers which are beneficial to your health, and which could use some improvement. Part of this process includes distinguishing between simple "steps" (e.g., to the fridge) and "active minutes" that are providing a measurable health benefit.

The Motiv ring is made of a durable and ultralight titanium shell, and is waterproof to 5ATM (165'). It monitors active and resting heart rate with an optical sensor, and uses a 3-axis accelerometer to track: active minutes; activity type; sleep duration; calories burned; distance; and steps.

Available for pre-order at printing, with shipment scheduled to begin sometime this summer, Motiv fitness tracking rings will come in Rose Gold and Slate Gray, and 7 sizes, 6 to 12. (Prior to shipment, Motiv will send purchasers a sizing set so you're sure to select the right fit.)
