The Buca Boot is a snazzy car trunk for your bike. Kathryn Carlson developed the Buca Boot concept at university in London, when she struggled to load up and strap down all her books and gear for class, plus her personal EDC for being out all day, and then hitting the pub at night, to her bicycle. It was an alternative to riding around like a sherpa who wandered off the trail to Machu Picchu.
Combining the perks of a bike basket and a car trunk, the Buca Boot screws onto any standard rear bike rack in a couple of minutes. The pannier is made of weatherproof and shock-resistant plastic, marine-grade wood, and nylon to stand up to city riding, with a hinge-locking anti-theft mechanism to stand up to city parking your bike.
And, the Buca Boot is bigger on the inside. When open its lids slide down and sides wing out to carry bigger items, such as a case of beer and bag of groceries.
Buca Boot dimensions are 15" x 12.5" x 8", and it weighs just over 5 pounds. Recommended maximum load capacity is 25 to 30 pounds.
