Maui Jim originally made these Special Edition Kekoa sunglasses for the Amazing Spider-Man, but the Amazing Spider-Man was all, "I'm the Amazing Spider-Man! I don't need no stinkin' UV protection! Also, I have four times more eyes than those polycarbonate lenses cover." So now they're releasing them to us plainfolk, exclusively through Sunglass Hut, and in a limited, 7,200-pair run.
The webbed wrap glasses are polarized/anti-reflective and sit inside a lightweight plastic Red Web Grilamid frame. Each has its production number etched on the inside right lens to ensure authenticity, and help persuade wearers' personal Gwen Stacys to acknowledge their superhero status. Spidey Sunglasses arrive packaged in both a secret-identity-exposing "The Amazing Spider-Man" hard case, and a Spider-Man-splattered lens baggy.
