Welcome to the fourth edition of What Is This Thing?, a photographic feature of a product whose purpose isn't obvious at first glance. One might even go so far as to call the looks of it befuddling, baffling, and bemusing. If you're one of the ones, here are some hints to help you escape the Bs.
- Anyone over 12 months old can use it.
- You'll need one more in the summer than in the winter, and more in New York than in Seattle.
- Most people who own one won't even scratch the surface of what it can be used on.
