One time I went to Chile and while others gaped at the glaciers of Patagonia and marveled at the volcanos of the Lake District, I ate empanadas. While they trekked the rolling green hills of fourth-generation farms and strolled the beaches of Valparaiso, I ate empanadas. Then we went farther north to wine country and I took a break from eating empanadas long enough to get trashed and pass out on the front walk of a regal and rambling Colchagua Valley hacienda. So it goes without saying that Nostalgia Electrics' Empanada Maker sure brings back memories.
Oh, and apparently it makes churros too. How do you say Yahtzee! in Spanish?
Interchangeable cooking plates allow for the deep-fat-fried-free crafting of either 2 empanadas or 6 churros per batch. Crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and, if they're anything like the ones in Chile, chock full of jamon y queso.
