Giveaway: Fidget Rings

By: on August 11, 2014

Maybe you fidget because you're anxious. Because you're bored. Because you have ADHD. Because you're 5 minutes away from walking into the biggest interview of your life. Because you just drank 11 cups of coffee. Now fidgeters both young and old, genetically cursed by the ticks and bounces, and circumstantially prompted to show them alike, can make a collective fidget in hopes of ending all fidgets: click here and enter to win a Fidget Rings package from Fidget Ring designer and fellow exhibitor of excess energy, Meg Dattoria. A $260+ value!

This giveaway is open to entrants worldwide.

About Fidget Rings

Washington DC artist Meg Dattoria created the Fidget Ring series in response to her own tendency to move restlessly during monotonous or taxing activities. Each of her models mimics one of the natural paths human hands tend to follow when they fidget. Dattoria hopes the rings will help contain these often distracting and unnerving movements "in a quiet, personal, and elegant way." In addition to benefitting everyday fidgeters, the rings can also assist in concentrating the erratic kinetic energies that sometimes accompany ADHD, Asperger syndrome, and autism.

Fidget Rings are fabricated partly by hand and partly using 3D printing technologies. Plastic models are 3D-printed in acrylic photopolymer and hand-dyed. Metal rings are made of a bronze-steel composite. Styles include rings with spinning/rolling balls, sliding discs, and a seesaw-like mechanism for silent tapping and pressing.

Our Fidget Rings Giveaway package includes the following pieces:

  • The Spin Pendant. Dattoria's brand new creation is a brass spinning pendant that comes on a gold finished chain. Dude's Fidget Rings Giveaway winner will be one of the first to own this edition, which is also Dattoria's first expansion of her ring line into other types of fidget-friendly jewelry.
  • The Slide2 in Stainless Steel. This is a one-of-a-kind piece based on the acrylic version, but in shiny, solid stainless. It fits over 2 fingers and features a contained disk that the wearer can slide 360 degrees around the ring's track. The disk also has a fingerprint texture for tactile stimulation.
  • The Roll2. Also in stainless steel, and also fitting over 2 fingers, the Roll2 mimics the fidgeting activity of repetitively sliding a hand back-and-forth across a surface. Its acrylic balls are available in white or blue.
  • Winner's choice of either a Slide1 or Slide2 acrylic ring in Blue, Fuchsia, or Black.

Fidget Rings are available in sizes Small, Medium, and Large.
