This isn't the droid you're looking for. But it is a speaker that sort of looks like the droid you might be looking for. Set the ICE Orb on its magnetic platform and connect it to the right device and it will even light up, spin its head 'round and 'round, and beep-boop-boop-bee-boop for you.
I don't think ICE designed its blue and white Orb Levitating Speaker to look like R2-D2, but what a happy coincidence for Star Wars fans who also happen to like amplified jams and things that defy gravity that it does. The Bluetooth speaker system consists of the spherical floating Orb on top and a stationary support Base/charging dock underneath. Feats of wonder and brothers from another mother aside, ICE created the Orb not only as a piece of art, but as "a piece of art crafted to perfection." The system has 360-degree sound, with the portable Orb functioning both while "sitting" on the Base or sitting next to you on its own in the hammock. Its speaker system promises zero distortion or noise no matter how high the volume cranks, and ICE says that even in motion the Orb won't diminish sound quality or clarity.
The Orb Base is 25 mm thick and uses 4 blue LED indicators denoting a Dynamic Stabilization mechanism to position and hold the speaker in place. A lofty 10 mm above its surface. The Base also includes a built-in USB port that can charge connected tablets and smartphones when it's connected to a direct power source. Orb pairs with devices via Bluetooth or NFC. Playback time per charge is 10 hours.
