If the Keurig Kold is on the "Wait, it costs how much?" end of your desire to drink homemade sodie, the thrifty kids at Hamilton Beach have a more reasonable (albeit more manually laborious) alternative. The Fizzini is a handheld carbonated soda maker, a cylindrical apparatus you twist onto specially designed bottles and press to inject deliciously nose-tickling, burp-contest-winning bubbles into your water.
Fizzini accomplishes its feats of carbonation with what my girlfriend calls an "adorable" 8-gram CO2 cartridges. Each set includes 10 starter cartridges, plus a 1-liter fizz-me bottle. The bottle's screw threads are designed for a quick, secure quarter-turn connection to the Fizzini. To carbonate, just give the attached module an additional turn once in place. Control carbonation levels with an adjustable knob on the side. If you want flavored fizz, you can add as much sodie syrup or fruit juice as you like after you've finished carbonating.
