The wayfarer frames are carved out of aerospace-grade titanium, anodized twice, and then powder coated to resist scratching and chafing just as effectively as similar powder coatings used on mountain bikes or drill bits. Polarized lenses are made from Cr-39 material to support lightness and durability, and can also be swapped out for prescription inserts. My estimation, based on the rockin' pair I have, is that The Hook will withstand being sat on once or twice too. No comment on how your butt will fare.
