iLounge named G-Project's G-BOOM Bluetooth boombox "Speaker of the Year" in 2013, which I'm pretty sure is the audio equipment equivalent of Time giving Pope Francis Man of the Year. It's a pretty damn awesome and powerful boombox.
Though not the smallest of speakers, the G-BOOM is still portable and, with its rugged black case, stands sturdy during tailgating, park, and general outdoor use. G-Project also points out the boombox's 2.2 speaker configuration and dual rear-firing bass ports render it "loud enough for your neighbors to hear - whether they like it or not." MAXX AUDIO digital sound processing and built in EQ with three optimized presets ensure sound quality and clarity match the volume. G-BOOM connects to any Bluetooth-enabled music device, from iPhones to laptops, with a one-button wireless pairing feature. A built-in lithium-ion rechargeable battery delivers a 6-hour cord-free playback time, or listeners can use the included AC adapter to plug and play all day.
In awarding G-BOOM its Speaker of the Year honor, the Editor-in-Chief of iLounge said, "Between the sound quality, sheer power, and incredibly sturdy construction, no speaker priced this aggressively delivers so much value for the dollar. It was the best overall speaker we tested all year, and this was a big year for speakers."
