Swedish brand Earin debuted in Summer 2014 with the title of World's Smallest Earbuds. Technology and competition being what it is today, I doubt they held their status for long (and marketing being what it is, I doubt it was ever confirmed to begin with) but today Earin takes a different approach to promoting its little sound bits: True Wirelessness.

Earins look like earplugs; they are completely cable- and wire-free. But rather than blocking sound out, these earbuds have a powerful Bluetooth nucleus that channels it in. If all goes as planned, without your even realizing they're there.

Earin buds each measure a mere 0.5" wide x 0.8" long, and weigh about 0.2 ounces in tandem. Compatible with both Bluetooth 3.0 and 4.0 technology, the earbuds sync for play times of up to 3 hours when fully charged. Charging comes courtesy of a proportionately small carry-along capsule, which also stores the miniature sound giants when not in use.

Earin prides itself on simplicity and straightforward functionality. Their earbuds have no superfluous sensors or lights, and no microphone. Earin, they say, "is for music lovers--and music lovers only." That said, since music lovers presumably like listening to their music without concern that their headphones will slip out and fall down a sewer grate while walking to work, Earin has 3 sizes of foam tips to ensure secure fit and comfort. They also include a concha lock that twists towards the ear's concha to further cement the earbuds in place.
