The Atari Flashback portable console is indeed here to console. The handheld 2600 will give a there, there pat on the back to everyone who didn't get an NES Classic before Nintendo announced they're discontinuing them, as well as all Dude readers who aren't Leo M., and therefore didn't win the NES Classic we gave away in January.
The Atari Flashback arrives pre-loaded with 60 classic games, including Frogger, Millipede, PONG, Missile Command, Asteroids, and Centipede. If those aren't your personal 2600 jams, the device also has an SD card slot that allows you to play pretty much any other game made for the 2600 on it (word is they're easy enough to find and load up online.)
The Flashback can also function as a straight Atari controller, and project its games onto a TV monitor so you can see every single pixel in action, but you'll need to get your own cable for the output.
