Giveaway: Botta-Design NOVA Watch

By: on December 15, 2014

Do you believe in spans of time, not points in time? The big picture more than the details? Or do you just want a really slick modern timepiece from a German physicist-turned-industrial-designer? Then click here and enter to win a NOVA Watch, created by Klaus Botta of Botta-Design! A $500 to $560 value

This giveaway is open to entrants worldwide.

About the NOVA Watch

The NOVA's watch face consists of exactly two time-telling elements: an hour hand and a 12-hour scale. No minutes to stress you out, no seconds to tick away, just a single indicator traveling around the dial's 12 segments in a visual representation of your passing hours. According to Botta-Design the NOVA, like an hourglass, "shows the course of a precisely defined time period...rather than the numerous little points in time" so as to encourage people to think of time in a more abstract sense. It's not "precisely 11:18", but "around half past eleven"; it's not "4:20", it's "about time to relax on the couch with some Pringles and herbal refreshments."

NOVA aesthetics feature an ultra-flat stainless steel watch case topped with dual-domed sapphire glass. Its movement, represented by a prominent green hand, is a Swiss RONDA 704. The watch is water resistant to 3 ATM and has a face diameter of 44mm. Botta-Design produces the timepiece in white and black dials with silver outer case rings, as well as a Black Edition that, yep, is entirely black less the green hour hand and gray segmented hours.
