Mr. Heater's Portable Buddy can't solve all of your problems, but it does get very high reviews for making the last one a lot more bearable. The propane-driven indoor/outdoor radiant heater outputs 4,000 to 9,000 BTUs, enough to warm a 200-square-foot space. It's also clean-burning and nearly 100% efficient during use, plus has an auto-shutoff feature that activates if the heater is tipped over, if its pilot light goes out, or if it detects low oxygen levels. Because the only thing worse than being stuck in your dark cold house in the middle of a blizzard is being stuck in your dark burning house in the middle of a blizzard.
The Mr. Heater Portable Buddy requires a minimum 1lb and up to a 20lb propane tank (separate connection hose required for larger tanks). The small tank powers the heater for 3 to 6 hours (depending on Low or High setting) and the large one 48 to 110 hours. Mr. Heater also makes a larger version of the Portable Buddy, able to heat spaces of up to 400 square feet.
