Breville says it will do for pizza lovers what cooking meth does for ailing chemistry teachers: bring home the dough. The Crispy Crust Stone Baked Pizza Maker aims to deliver brick oven pie quality without the bricks. Probably at a fraction of the cost and countertop space requirements too.
Both top and bottom heating elements fire this oven's fitted pizza stone to a high of 660 degrees, the exact cooking environment of a commercial brick version. Though it accommodates topped dough of up to only 11" in diameter, personal pizza cook time settings for thin, medium, or thick-crusted bubbling gourmet art run as short as 8 minutes, so I guess that's OK. I bet I could time it so I eat exactly one pepperoni & mushroom every 8 minutes while the next one is cooking. Then 48 minutes later I'd be full with no more than a few seconds of down time between each bite.
Breville's pizza maker gets the Crispy Crust modifier from its internal stone, said to conduct and retain heat evenly to "guarantee crisp, golden crusts." A built-in viewing window allows for monitoring this claim without opening the top lid and F'ing up the oven's ch'i.
