Segway Ninebot Electric GoKart Kit
I gotta give Segway and their Ninebot Electric GoKart Kit some credit. Not only does this company persist in releasing new products despite being the butt of so many jokes - from Segway tours to mall cops to George W. Bush fails - but with their Segway miniPRO retrofit kit they've earned themselves a Red Dot Design Award for 2018.
The Ninebot Electric GoKart Kit comes with a rider's seat, steering wheel, front bumper, and front wheel add-ons for the Segway miniPRO, the latter of which serves as the vehicle's rear wheels and powertrain. Once assembled, the kart adjusts to fit both adults and children from 4'3" to 6'5" tall, and weighing up to 220 pounds.
The GoKart Kit can reach top speeds of 15MPH, at a max slope of 15 degrees, and typical range of 9 miles per charge. Within those specs, the kart pairs with a Segway mobile app to give riders a choice of 3 different driving levels: Novice; Normal; and Sports, each of which has distinct driving speed settings.
To be clear, the Ninebot Electric Gokart Kit is an add-on to the Segway miniPRO, and the two are sold, each for a pretty penny, separately.
