While UBTECH appears to be marketing their Mythical Series: Unicornbot Kit to young lady STEM enthusiasts, I happen to know a not-so-young...OK, young-at-heart lady named She-Ra: Princess of Power who might like this Swift Wind-looking unicorn to add to her collection of stuff that makes her happy.
The buildable, codable Unicornbot encourages kids ages 8 and up to learn the basics of mechanical building with 440 snap-together parts, as well as programming using Blockly. Young coders will be able to turn the Unicornbot's horn from a point of interest into a spire of dazzlement with a color sensor and 8 customizable color cards. A pair of smooth motion robotic servo motors also allow mythical beast masters to create new and custom actions using a PRP (pose, record, play) function.
The Unicornbot Kit requires no additional tools for assembly, and UBTECH includes 3D, 360-degree animated building instructions to assist with building. While I'll be giving a Unicornbot Kit to my wife this year, some of you might find the UBTECH STEM toy more suitable as a gift for a kid.
