The VisionCheck 2 is the latest in EyeQue's line of equipment for self-administered, smartphone-conducted refractive error tests. In other words, it's a vision check done entirely by me, myself, my phone, and eye.

According to EyeQue, you can use the VisionCheck 2 to perform authentic, accurate self-refraction tests to determine what level of vision correction, and in turn, strength of glasses or contact lenses, you need. The VisionCheck 2 and the EyeQue app use proprietary algorithms to process, personalize, and store results, which you can then use to order new glasses online, as well as track your...uh.... "Progress" is the word I'd normally write here, but since the VisionCheck 2 isn't your typical tracker, I guess "deterioration" might be more appropriate in this case? Sorry, dudes, getting older sucks.

Speaking of which, a new feature of the VisionCheck 2 is a test for reading vision. The device will provide a near-vision ADD number you can use to get your bleary and blurry eyes some reading glasses, bifocals, or progressive lenses. It also comes with a PDCheck pupillary distance measurement tool to ensure if you're getting new glasses or lenses, you order both the correct prescription and lens configuration.

The VisionCheck 2 is an upgraded, improved, and more streamlined follow-up to EyeQue's original VisionCheck. At printing it was available for pre-order on IndieGoGo, with shipment anticipated to begin in June 2021.
