I don't know if it was the Gemini or some other LED teeth whitening accelerator, but I definitely saw one of these raver's mouth contraptions at CES this week. The company had about 10 recliners set up for eager guinea pigs to relax/put themselves on display for passersby in, lips ballooned open, Vegas-appropriate blue lights searing into their gums and teeth. Correction: their stained and yellowed, but soon to be bright! white! teeth.
The Gemini Teeth Whitening Accelerator pairs an LED light unit shaped like an oversized mouthpiece with the concentrated hydrogen peroxide whitening gel used in most standard teeth whitening strips and trays. This kit includes gel for 5 x 20-minute sessions. Creator BEYOND Dental & Health says users should see "dramatic" results in just 3 sessions.
The Gemini LED light unit, powered by a rechargeable lithium battery, promises to accelerate the whitening process without inflicting the unpleasant tooth sensitivity products requiring extended use are prone to do. They say it is also clinically proven to kill germs.
The Gemini 1-2 punch promises to turn teeth stained by coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco products from pee- to pearl-hued in just an hour's total time. The system is also effective on age-related discolorations, as well as Tetracycline and fluoride stains.
