As a self defense money clip, Gerber's GDC Money Clip makes a little more sense than this one. Rather than requiring the carrier to remove his money to use it, the GDC sidekick has a 1.75" fine edge stainless steel blade that slides in and out of its back plate without disturbing the rest of the clip's functionality at all. Also, the GDC should prove to be slightly more practical than a blunt aluminum whacker with a finger hole because while it will still inflict bodily harm, it will also assist in opening the shrink wrap on my new action figures and video games.
Gerber GDC Money Clips hold up to 5 cards, or the equivalent thickness of cash, in their 3.6" long, titanium coated steel bodies (engraveable for the really motivated gift givers). The incorporated knife slides in and pulls out via a finger slot with serrated thumb rest for grip. Empty weight is 2.9 ounces.
