Do you have a (glow-in-the-dark, searing lime) green thumb? Do you want one? We can't promise this bioluminescent mushroom habitat kit comes with brownie recipes and resultant rainbow vision, but even without the magical effects of ingesting them, the glowing toadstools conjure an air of trippy divination that is mesmerizing to those in their presence. The package includes enough Panellus Stipticus spores to alight an indoor terrarium, or a real 6" log, 2" to 4" in diameter, scrounged up from the backyard. If installed in a terrarium, the mushrooms--called Foxfire or Faerie Fire in mycological street slang--will enhance the micro-climate via their release of humidity and air purifying enzymes.

Glow-in-the-Dark Habitat Kits also include detailed instruction booklets for planting, cultivating, and caring for the spores. Once the mushrooms grow big and strong, even in low light, they will emit a celestial event sort of glow suitable for finding a barrier-free route to the john at night, and deterring visits from burglars and Jehovah's Witnesses, who will be freaked the F out by the little green men you appear to be harboring.
